Is there a doctor in the house?

No, but there is a medical student! After a long old year of the trials and tribulations of a hopeful medicine applicant, I've finally got one step closer to my goal: I'm starting as a medical student at Newcastle University.
With only three days to go until I move "ooop north" I can safely say that my life is in chaotic disarray, half of it being packed neatly into cardboard boxes and suitcases, the other half all over my bedroom floor.
It's only now that the size of the distance between home and university has started to sink in: whilst most of my friends have decided to stay down south to continue their studies, (with the exception of one going to Liverpool) I am heaving my life to the other end of England. After the move, the next time I'll see my family and childhood friends is Christmas. Saying goodbyes has been the hardest part so far, but no doubt it'll get harder as it moves from friends to family. But this is a whole new chapter of my life, and inevitably, with new beginnings, also comes some endings.
Am I excited? Absolutely. Scared? Just a little.

  1. You'll be fine. xD Of course the goodbyes were hard, but university is (apparently) the best few years of your life. Newcastle is a beautiful city (sometimes I wish I didn't live here so I could come to uni here, haha). Anyway, good luck. :)
